The light wattage fixtures can be seen as inscribed on the inside of the socket and also printed on the bulb. This helps you to know the type of bulb to purchase and use on a particular socket.
Choosing the correct bulb wattage is very important, there is a certain voltage you are allowed to go above or beneath when replacing your bulb, but it is recommended to use the correct wattage.
When you use a 120-volt bulb in a 12-volt fixture the bulb will not come up and also the other way, but when you use a 12-volt bulb in a 120-volt fixture, the bulb will burn up.
